  • Short Easy Walks

    • Lake Eacham - 3 km shaded rainforest walk around the craters edge

    • Lake Barrine - 5km shaded rainforest walk

    • Lake Tinaroo - Tinaroo Falls - concrete path around edge of lake at Tinaroo Falls (no falls, nice lake views and dam)

    • Hallorans Hill - Atherton - a shaded 3.6km return walk. Start from Louise Street / Cook St Atherton follow the conservation trail up   through forest to Hallorans Lookout. Return, retrace you steps back down the hill.

    • Atherton Tablelands Rail Trail (walk or cycle) - Atherton - Tolga ... sectors from 1.5km to 7.5km one-way.

    • Wongabel State Forest - 2.6km shaded walk - Location 8km south of Atherton on Kennedy Hwy.

    • Peterson Creek - Yungaburra - usually you will see platypus early or late in the day. A 1.5km walk from bridge on Gillies Hwy following path by river to wire suspension bridge, then exit following the path that goes straight ahead through bushes. On exiting the bushes take the 2nd road on right, and walk back through Yungaburra.
      Or for longer 3.4km walk when you cross the wire suspension bridge turn right and continue on following river. Your walking along the Peterson Wildlife and Botanical Walk, continue until you reach the old iron railway bridge. Turn right and a short walk to the road. Turn right and follow road back through Yungaburra. 

    • Mt Baldy - Atherton - This is not a long walk, but certainly involves more effort than an easy walk, as you climb 280m in 2.25km walking to the top of Mt Baldy. e walk starts from Rifle Range Road, Atherton. Then another 2.25km retracing your steps back down. There are however spectacular views from the top (alt 1017m) looking out over Tolga and the Atherton Tablelands.
